On December, 25th together with elections of heads and deputies of the regional councils in some settlements of Karachaevo-Circassia a referendum among representatives of Abazin nationality would pass.

Results of the voting should define, to be the Abazin area or not to be. Except for it in Karachaevo-Circassia the commission on creation of the Abasin area under direction of the chairman of the government Alik Kardanov works. Weekly about the done work they report to the president of Karachaevo-Circassia Mustafa Batdyev.

Note: Abazins live in five areas of Karachaevo-Circassia. According to the federal law they had expressed will to create their own national regional center which could unite the people. In the opinion of Abazins, it would help to solve many problems and, first of all, to preserve the language and the culture of the people.
