In Istanbul on August, 27th representatives of North Caucasian Diaspora had organized the public actions in support of independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. They drove an automobile race, crying out the slogans for solidarity with the republics. Participants of the action called the authorities of Turkey to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Meanwhile, Ankara expressed its concern in relation to the political decision of Russia.

В связи с позицией властей празднование было отменено, но люди, как это объявлялось ранее, съехались в селение Арапчифли (Шапсугхабль) в пригороде Дюздже 31 августа. Как сообщается в информации, присланной организаторами мероприятия в адрес корреспондента «Кавказского узла», сработал сам запрет.
